also zu java, ihr kennt doch sicherlich alle diese stern-short-news box die einige auf ihren hp'S haben...da laufen immer die überschriften der einzelnen artikel als ticker durch und wenn man sie anklickt kommt man direkt zu diesem artikel...das geht bei mir ncih...ich séhe die stelle wo es auf der hp sein müsste, aber ich seh den ticker da ncih, d.h. das da keine überschriften zu artikeln laufen...und so weit ich weiss is das n java applet und ich hab auch diese java rpm's installuert und er hat auch das richtige verzeichniss im konqueror und java is auch aktiviert, aber ich seh nix...funktioniert das bei euch den einwandfrei?

wird warscheinlich nur ne kleine sache sein aber trotzdem resen ärgerlich...najut...bis nachher

Zu Filesharing hab ich doch schon einen Riesenlink gepostet. Mit Anleitungen und allem pipapo

mldonkey ist die Eierlegende Wollmilchsau. Der kann aus fast jedem Netz von Overnet bis Kazaa ziehen.

AOL geht unter Linux mit Peng und auch über ganz normales DFÜ. Das wird aber erst legal, wenn das neue AOL rauskommt und daher werd ich die Erklärung nicht posten

ja aber donkey mule overnet kazaa das hat ich alles schon...was mich jetz am besten überzeugt hat war bittorrent und davon am besten der mod "azureus" (natürlich nur für legale sachen im betrieb )

und da ich das unter xp am laufen habe will ichs natürlich auch für suse...der link warok da stand viel drin, aber auch alles wieder in fachsprache...ausserdem muss für azureus java installiert sein.

hach das is alles so ufregend hier mit euch

also bei mir hat java erstma priorität...dann sehn wa weiter.

Naja um diese Howto Sprache kommst du nicht rum.
Wen du dich durch die ersten 2,3 Howtos gebissen hast, verstehst du schon viel mehr vom System.

weil mein kollege ne php seite hat...alles verwirrend...ich werd ma weiter nach fs progs suchen bis ich ne antwort drauf hab...

ach so, wenn ich online update machen will über yast2, dann bekomm ich die meldung das kein mirror gefunden wurde...ich glaub www.suse.de is die falsche seite die er nach updates durchsucht, oder?!

Es hat tatsächlich mit dem vesa treiber funktioniert. Der Speicher der GraKa würde anfänglich nur als 8MB erkannt, daran hat es wohl gelegen.

Jetzt muss ich es nur noch schaffen, trotz AOL ins Internet zu kommen, dann kann ich so richtig loslegen

soweit so gut... php wird serverseitig ausgeführt und das hat mit deinem system eigentlich wenig zu tun.. das heißt... es kann natürlich am browser liegen.... was unter ie funktioniert muss unter mozilla noch lange nicht gut aussehen oder klappen.. könnte sein, dass die site für nen ie optimiert ist und der von php erzeugte quellcode für den mozilla zu fehlerhaft ist um angezeigt zu werden...

yast kennt normalerweise den updateftp von suse... aber du kannst unter suse.de nachsehen und den korrekten ftp ermitteln und in yast eintragen.

ok suse update hat auch gefunzt...benutze übrigens den konqueror zum surfen...den find ich am schönsten, würde auch den neuen opera nehmen aber der is nich kostenlos...und ausserdem hab ich mich an den jetz gewöhnt...aber danke nochma für die hilfe.

jetz muss ich noch n bissel nach fs progs suchen...hab am liebsten rpm'S wo ich nich noch gross was einstellen muss...hat jemand von euch auch kopete? wenn ja könnte man sich ja da auch austauschen.

nein nein...hab mir nur ne icq nummer geben lassen bei der hp von icq. und dann bei kopete die nummer eingegeben und schon kann ich das netzwerk nutzen. ohne diesen sicherheitssch... bei dem client von icq. das mit dem musik tauschen weiss ich ncih..hab davon nich so viel. mag lieber bewegte bilder mit sound für meinen dvd player

aber wen wir nich so weit voneinander weg wohnen könnte man sich ma treffen...ich komm aus ostfriesland und ihr? (müsst keine stadt angeben nur das gebiet)

Als ICQ client benutze ich Sim http://sim-icq.sourceforge.net/
Das ist von der Bedienung eher wie das ICQ für Win aber es hat ein paar nette Features mehr, wie SSL Verschlüsselung und natürlich keine Spyware
Gibt es aber auch für Windows

INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW NVIDIA DRIVER INSTALLER

After you have downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg1.run,
begin installation by exiting X, cd'ing into the directory containing
the downloaded file, and run:

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg1.run

The .run file is a self-extracting archive. When the .run file is
executed, it extracts the contents of the archive, and runs the contained
`nvidia-installer` utility, which will walk you through installation of
the NVIDIA driver.

The .run file accepts many commandline options. Here are a few of the
more common options:

--info
Print embedded info about the .run file and exit.

--check
Check integrity of the archive and exit.

--extract-only
Extract the contents of ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496.run,
but do not run 'nvidia-installer'.

--help
Print usage information for the common commandline options
and exit.

--advanced-options
Print usage information for the common commandline options as
well as the advanced options, and then exit.

Installation will also install the utility `nvidia-installer`, which may
be later used to uninstall drivers, auto-download updated drivers, etc.


KERNEL INTERFACES

The NVIDIA kernel module has a kernel interface layer which must be
compiled specifically for the configuration and version of the kernel
you are running. NVIDIA distributes the source code to this kernel
interface layer, as well as a precompiled version for many of the kernels
distributed by some popular distributions.

When the installer is run, it will determine if it has a precompiled
kernel interface for the kernel you are running. If it does not have
one, it will check if there is one on the NVIDIA ftp site (assuming you
have an internet connection), and download it.

If a precompiled kernel interface is found that matches your kernel,
then that will be linked[1] against the binary portion of the NVIDIA
kernel module. The result of this operation will be a kernel module
appropriate for your kernel.

If no matching precompiled kernel interface is found, then the installer
will compile the kernel interface for you. However, first it will
check that you have the correct kernel headers intalled on your system.
If the installer must compile the kernel interface, then you must install
the kernel-sources package for your kernel.

[1] NOTE: installation requires that you have a linker installed.
The linker, usually '/usr/bin/ld', is part of the binutils package;
please be sure you have this package installed prior to installing the
NVIDIA driver.


FEATURES OF NVIDIA-INSTALLER

o Uninstall: Driver installation will backup any conflicting files
and record what new files are installed on the system. You may run:

nvidia-installer --uninstall

to uninstall the current driver; this will remove any files that
were installed on the system, and restore any backed up files.
Installing new drivers implicitly uninstalls any previous drivers.

o Auto-Updating: If you run:

nvidia-installer --latest

the utility will connect to NVIDIA's FTP site, and report the latest
driver version and the url to the latest driver file.

If you run:

nvidia-installer --update

the utility will connect to NVIDIA's FTP site, download the most recent
driver file, and install it.

o Multiple user interfaces: The installer will use an ncurses-based
user interface if it can find the correct ncurses library, otherwise,
it will fall back to a simple commandline user interface. To disable
use of the ncurses user interface, use the option '--ui=none'.

o Updated Kernel Interfaces: The installer has the ability to
download updated precompiled kernel interfaces from the NVIDIA
FTP site (for kernels that were released after the NVIDIA driver
release).

Q: How do I extract the contents of the .run file without actually
installing the driver?

A: Run:

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg1.run --extract-only

This will create the directory NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg1
which contains the uncompressed contents of the .run file.


Q: How can I see the source code to the kernel interface layer?

A: The source files to the kernel interface layer are in the usr/src/nv
